Mr. Thomas is married and they have two children. A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a BS and Master in Engineering, he is a registered professional Engineer.
Other memberships include Columbia Chamber of Commerce: Leadership Columbia Committee, Columbia Forum and Committee of 100, Past member Town of Arcadia Lakes Planning Commission, Midlands Business Club, Columbia Action Council Board of Directors, Executive Association of Greater Columbia and Member of Who's Who in the Southeast. Outside interests include golf, hunting, piano, bicycling, and family activities.

- Maintain a safe, quiet, clean community without property taxes.
- Keep our lakes and ponds clean, safe and environmentally correct.
- Continue our recycling efforts I have worked on council to improve.
- Continue my involvement on the Regional Transit Committee to minimize commuter traffic through our town and maximize future transportation options for our town folks.
- Continue my work over the past three years for a closer relationship with our Sheriff’s department to bring about better police protection for our citizens.
- Protect and expand our town boundaries through appropriate annexations when possible.
